My Bio
Grew up in Roanoke, VA. I'm divorced with a beautiful little girl, age 7 at the time of writing this.
I've had a fascination - really more of an obsession - with music for nearly my entire life. I started playing drums at 9 and guitar at 11. Playing shows, touring, recording were some of the best memories I have. I'd like to think that it's not all necessarily in the past but I haven't played in a band in many years.

Most of my writing is non-fiction; either personal journal-style pieces, political rants, musings on religious ideologies, anecdotal stories, or a combination of all of the above.
I also have an interest in photography, but don't have any type of education or training. I suppose it's never too late to start.. Unfortunately I was burglarized a few years ago and lost most of my work when my computer and camera were stolen. I only have the few pieces I had put online for one reason or another. I was one of the few people who worked in digital media yet hardly ever uploaded any material online (it was just a hobby, and i saved everything on the computer mainly just for archival purposes), even as a safe form of back-up. And, to be fair, at the time, there was no pinterest or instagram or any of those things (yeah, we're talking probably 7 or 8 years ago).

i try to be VERY clear about this, as i usually research issues enough to have a pretty good idea of where i stand with things; i don't like commenting on things on which i'm ill-informed. but, with this situation, no matter how informed one is, culling school/mass shootings is not going to be solved by putting more guns out on the market (which btw is the ONLY thing the NRA and gun lobbies care about - selling guns. this is PRECISELY why they took a stand against a bill that would prevent people on terrorist watch lists from obtaining firearms in the U.S.).. at the same time, it's also not going to be solved by either rounding up people's fi

Please note that these are basically rants out of my journal for which I'm trying to find the appropriate online home; much of what I write is in original draft format; once ready for publication, it will be placed in a different area of my profile apart from my journal i think i posted this or something similar once already.. but, this is AMAZING!!! an outright CURE for Hepatitis C. not management, not "trial drug that may help to regulate your liver so you can live a normal and lengthy life"... they ACTUALLY CURED SOMETHING! and guess what else? The pain of fibromyalgia and rheumatoid arthritis, "AIDS wasting" syndrome (starvation, essentia

i've been giving this some thought.. and i've always been a huge fan of the goonies ever since the first time i saw that amazing masterpiece of a movie.. but, just recently i have put some brain cells to work and realized (yes, a bit later than about 99% of the others around my age who saw this movie when they were younger) that i believe there may have been some underlying double-entendres in that movie. the most notable, and obvious, hardly veiled at all, is the moniker, "One-Eyed Willy." how i never noticed this before i can't be too sure.. but, man, i feel dumb for having not picked up on it. considering my age when i did see this movie,
